Bleh!

I am tired. Worn Out. Exhausted....and the weather isn't helping! All I want is to curl up in bed watch a silly movie and eat FATTENING Chocolate Chip Cookies. I don't want to worry about what time it is, or where I have to be. Rest.....oh that would be nice!

Big Boy Bed

O how they get big.

In the past several days we have had um...."sleeping issues".
Bedtime has never really been an issue for Sammy. He gets his softie, his cup of milk, lots of love and goes to sleep. Unfortunately several weeks ago he started taking off his braces (they help his club foot) and climbing out of his bed. We would put him back and he would cry until he puked (which P.S. isn't fun for anybody!) So after several trial and errors we broke down and got him a toddler bed today (a twin was too big with his limited mobility due to the braces). Tonight was the night, I sweetened the deal with new Cars PJ's and a Lightening McQueen Sippy Cup.... well..... HE DID GREAT!!!!He really did, we had a little crying, but that was just because his sippy cup was clogged! He curled up and went to sleep. Jeff and I were both suprised, but I guess he was just ready to move out of the crib. He is almost two, -but I would have let him stay in that thing till JR. High if he wanted- Since he is sleeping so soundly I am scurring off for some zzz's and wanted to share my little story. So here he is in his new bed.

My Husband Rocks

Oh how he makes me laugh! As much as I tell him he's a big dork, and that he is not funny....he is. He knows exactly what to say to and how to say it to get me to crack up. We have so much fun together and I love him...HE ROCKS!!!

The Birthday Banner

Whitney's 7th birthday was last month and I still have her banner hanging in the living room. I could say that I just haven't had time and we've been too busy, but that would be a lie. No I keep it up because I reminds me of two things. 1-My kids are getting big. I hate this. It actually physically pains me to see them get older. I cherish each and every day that I have with them and never ever take it for granted. Pretty soon they will be driving cars, going on dates and I know I will long for the days when they would curl up on the couch with me to watch a movie or read them a book. I know its coming, and even typing this now I am flinching at the thought of my babies getting big on me.

The second reason I keep it is that it reminds me how happy she was (and it wasn't just the gifts.) She was thrilled to have her special day with her family and friends. The look on her face was pure joy, and I loved every minute of it. So I have to admit, I feel a little like Ms. Haversham from Great Expectations. But it isn't an ugly wedding dress and I threw out the left over cake (the little there was) so I think keeping it up just a little longer is okay. Well until its is time for my Christmas garland........

Jake's first football game

I can handle this....he has been practicing for weeks.

I try to sit in my chair but I feel like my heart is going to burst out of my chest.

I stand. There is about 3 minutes till game time.

The White Eagles take the field, he is on the bench.

I can handle this.

First play -we take the ball. I can handle this.

HE COMES OFF THE BENCH... this is good... I can handle this

I run to the fence, my chest is throbbing.

The ball is hiked, and everything goes into slooooooowwwww moootioooon.

I see his skinny wrist with his red medical bracelet charge at the boy in front of him.

I don't hear any sound, I can't breath, I can feel the tears welling up- here it comes.

My husband takes my drink, and tells me he is fine, he isn't going to get hurt,

Please God, protect him, please-----I feel peace.

I can handle this.

Epilepsy WILL not hold him back- he is determined-
