Answered Prayers and Races

Well you just don't get better then the weekend we had. First, after being laid off for six months, my husband was called to back to work at the Steel Mill. He had not anticipated being called back until late fall, so this was a big surprise. God has blessed us in the past months, not just financially. The time that Jeff and I spent together I will treasure and I already miss him not being here... just don't tell him that.

This weekend, I also participated in the Komen Race for the Cure with my aunt Sallie. It was amazing. there was over 66,000.00 participants. There is something very touching about seeing a cancer survivor run a 5k...talk about answered prayers-it doesnt' get much better then that.

MY HUSBAND ROCKS!

Jeff is so awesome. He just finished making, from his own design, two tables and five chairs for American Girl Dolls. One set is for Whitney and one is for my family's annual auction coming up. He is soooooooo talented, I just love him.

My New Prayer

Since school has been out I have noticed my three older kids relationships with eachother. Up until recently it has been the typical sibling relationship that involved pulling hair, teasing, and all in all fighting. I am not sure if it is because they are getting older and more tolerant but they have these awesome relationships with one another. Don't get me wrong they still fight, but they also love eachother. I have actually had them defending one another, which made my heart smile.

Have you ever thought to yourself "WHY HAVEN'T I PRAYED FOR THAT?"---What, only me--ahem--. Okay let me start over, I belive that God can answer prayer but sometimes I try to do things on my own instead of praying and trusting God.So here is my prayer... for my kids to be best friends. Ok ok that may be a stretch but at least I want them to love, respect and truly enjoy eachother's company. Man, if I would have started praying this earlier, maybe they would have less scars....yay you are right probably not.

Updates

Man am I a slacker! Way too long since my last post.

We just got back from our family vacation. Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge, TN. We had a blast. The boys both had saved their birthday money for this trip. Much to my dismay they purchased two water turtles...yes stinky, smelly, little buggy eyed turtles. They have loving named them Kingston and Dixie. Now not be outdone by her brothers Ms. Whitney decided to get a hermit crab. Bleh....however..... I can remember a time when I was a kid and those would have probably been my prefrences also. Going down memory lane, I can recall bringing back Geckos from Texas and a rabbit (I think from Arkansas) when Brandon and I were kids. Now that I have my own children I appreciate my parents agreeing to let us do so, even though I am completely sure they were just as excited as I am about Kingston and Dixie.
